Joe has over 15 years of experience directing enterprise software development and has held positions in executive management, professional services, and sales. He is currently Managing Partner at NextStage LLC, a closely held private investment firm specializing in early-stage software companies.
Prior to NextStage, Joe was Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at FirstBest Systems Inc. While at FirstBest, he and his team developed the first commercially available SaaS Underwriting Workstation for global property and casualty insurance carriers. FirstBest was acquired by Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE) in 2016.
Before FirstBest, Joe served as Senior Director for BEA Systems, where he was responsible for building the consulting practice for BEA’s E-commerce Application Division. He came to BEA with the record acquisition of The Theory Center by BEA Systems in 1999.
Prior to co-founding The Theory Center, he directed large-scale enterprise application projects for clients, such as Hertz Corporation, Citibank, Lockheed Martin and McDonnell Douglas.
Joe received an MBA from Northeastern University, an ALM in Information Technology and Management from Harvard University, and a BA from Catholic University.
