Matt Witheiler

Entrepreneur turned operator turned geek in VC clothing, amateur drone pilot, expert dog walker

Matt is a General Partner at Flybridge whose investment interests and experience broadly cover companies across the information technology sector including hardware, financial technology and education technology. Matt represents Flybridge on the boards of 33AcrossConvoke Systems, Dragon Innovation and Jibo, and serves as an observer at Carnival Mobile, Madeira Madeira, Next University and Pitzi.

Prior to joining the firm in July 2008, Matt spent 7.5 years in the hardware space, first as an entrepreneur helping to start and run AnandTech.com and later as an operator serving in product roles at ATI Technologies, a 3D graphics silicon provider that was acquired by Advanced Micro Devices in 2006 for $5.4B.

Matt also is a Founding Executive Committee Member of First Growth Venture Network, a network of venture and angel investors supporting first and second time entrepreneurs building exciting companies in the New York area. He is also a mentor at Techstars and R/GA and writes occasionally for Techcrunch.

Matt holds a BA in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
